regardless of bawahs, normals, atas, kulintang and percussions
to create music like none other with our conductor, Mr Dzul. :D

Students from Korea who came for our enrichment session(:
The remaining 12 who are in the running for exco 2007-08 took a simple pre-interview test on Monday morning.
The test consists of 2 sections. Section A consists of short questions pertaining to some facts about NJC Angklung and Section B consists of 2 questions modelling issues that an exco member may have to handle.
The purpose of this test is to test how much the exco applicants know about NJC Angklung and for the present exco to know how sensitive, practical and insightful the exco applicants are. The results of this test will be used as one of the basket of instruments to decide who will constitute the final 6 members of the new exco.
Here are the questions in Section A and the answers.
Q1) Which year was the NJC Angklung Ensemble formed? A1) 1977 Answers I saw include 1997 and 2003. The closest were 1978 and 1979. NJC Angklung Ensemble has been around for 30 years and it is not as young as some of you may think.
Q2) Mr Dzul composed two pieces for the Angklung Ensemble. Both were played at SYF Central Judging competitions. Name these two pieces. A2) Wave of Hope and Reverie Most people got this correct. It is shocking that some people answered Zapin. How can they not know that Zapin is a traditional Malay dance song?
Q3) Where can you buy Mr Dzul’s albums? State either the name of the shop or the shopping centre where the shop is situated at. A3) Muzika Records at Joo Chiat Complex. A few got it correct. I challenge the people who answered CD Rama and Mustafa to try to find his albums there.
Q4) If you go to Angklung Ensemble’s website on KM, whose name can you find in the “Contact” box at the top right hand corner of your computer screen? A4) Ang Xue Si You won't see Mr Fuad's or my name there.
Q5) State an event the Angklung Ensemble is going to perform at in July 2007. A5) Heritage Festival at Suntec City on 21st July. All got this correct. How can anybody get this wrong?
Q6) Name any 2 pieces of Western Songs that are songs played by the Angklung Ensemble. A6) Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps, Stand by Me, Rivers of Babylon, Save the Last Dance for Me, Heart and Soul, Sway All got this correct. Impossible to be wrong.
Heyo! For the time being i may not be able to see u on every practices, until after ur CTs The seniors will be standing down soon, after the suntec performance and from now onwards can the juniors sort out players for kulintangs and percussions? this is top priority...two on melody and one on bass kul, two rebanas and one box drum and toys All juniors try to learn and pick up as much as possible from your seniors....you must be performance ready (on ur own) by the time we reach the suntec performance day. And for the seniors, esp kul and percussion players...plse assist ur juniors Thank you
College Day.... that was the second best performance of the yr. Well done. Although the hall does not hv the same kind of accoustic as SCH and hence projection of sound does not really went that well, but u managed to put up a good finale. Here are some pictures taken at LT5
Heyo! I'm sure some of u or maybe all are having wat they called as 'syf withdrawal sympton'...memories of wat happened before and on the 26th of Apr kept flashing once in a while. Unfortunately or rather fortunately, it cannot be cured..the memories will be forever embedded somewhere at the corner there. Watever the feelings that u hv (i'm sure its a pleasant one)...cherish them, lets move on. SYF marked the beginning of good things to come for NJC angklung ensemble. College Day will be the first of that good thing. How is college day performance differs fr SYF? Obvious reason...syf day was in front of fellow angklung players from other schools...whereas college day will be in front of ur own fellow school mates, teachers, parents and the public, and of course the guest of honour, who has so far impressed with our performance for the past college days. I heard that we are the last performing group to perform..lets end it with a bang, show to the audience wat NJC angklung ensemble are capable of, do urself, the ensemble and the school proud. I'll see u guys during the full run Take care!
