We are a group of carefree students who have gathered together,
regardless of bawahs, normals, atas, kulintang and percussions
to create music like none other with our conductor, Mr Dzul. :D

Sunday's performance was the final performance for the seniors.
I did not take any photos of the ensemble on stage, partly because the songs were very well played that night, but I was telling myself I must listen to the final performance of so many great artistes on stage.
What's more touching was a super long message I received later that night. It was so touching that I did not know how to reply.
Anyway, here are the photos I am supposed to share!
Hi people, sorry for the poor quality of the video and the "guest" appearances of various "artistes".
You guys did well and the second night was even better. These videos were taken during the first night.

Reverie
And of course must offer you all bonus video! Sorry for the background noise though.

PS: I actually overheard some of them talking about Mr Dzul at Burger King when I was having dinner there. I won't say much about what I heard since I'm not supposed to gossip here.
I am extremely proud with all of you...the performance was awesome! And i received countless congratulatories after the performance. Well done! His excellency Mr President spoke to me... yes...while we were on stage for the photo taking...and after the photo taking, again, he spoke to me. Want to know what he said?...i think i'll wait till later, till after our second performance tmr. This has been a memorable historical nite for the NJC angklung ensemble. I will share with you wat was the conversation with the president and the rest of the guests...soon, this entry is just to say how happy i am right now, cannot wait till after the second nite's performance lar, must express now....then can sleep. Once again WELL DONE ! luv u guys!
Hello all! Since this blog is also read by the rest of the world, I am proud to announce that the NJC Angklung Ensemble were invited to perform for two nites at the Singapore Expo for the IRIR (inter religous inter racial something lah, i dunno the full name of the event) on the 28th and 29th July. Event will be graced by his Excellency President of the Republic of Singapore.
To the J2s, this is also also ur last performance with the ensemble...although it is not made compulsory for u to take part in it, but i am very very touch when told that all of you will be joining! And i also realised that this will the last time i'll get to see all ur smiling faces on stage as a group taking cue from me.. ( oh yes, shuxian, dun worry i'm conducting....someone told me that u will kill me if i arrow u to conduct..haha :P). Lets make thsi last performance a very memorable one for u and the rest of the audience especially his excellency Mr president.
To the juniors....this performance marks the end of wat i called 'the honeymoon period'. You are on ur own from there onwards...and ur seniors had done a great job in guiding u, and u will also do the same for ur juniors come nxt yr..and btw nxt yr is THE concert yr..haha, u want to know the stress level preparing for the concert? ask ur seniors esp the super seniors, and dont forget to ask them the level of satisfaction and sense of achievement too...better than SYF! I hope by now u have already realised that this CCA rox like hell! and will continue to rock as long as everybody stay together!
Seeya all at the S'pore Expo

okay, couldnt think of a more suitable title because im going to do a quick summary and update about recent events.so yah its basically a 'rojak'post.
first up, as posted by yanmin, we've taken the step back for the juniors to show what they've got.so for the seniors or grand seniors i'll just list down their names alright.cant provide photos lah, im not tt resourceful cos for handover ceremony, 2 of them had OP workshop so they didnt join us. Here it goes
yup.swopped some duties ard cos we felt this would be more suitable for the next batch.den the j1's had their first performance with limited j2's. only 3 j2's, they had it on CIP day, due to some poor organisation n a poor phone of mine, could only snap some secretive shots from afar, but im sure the jia you we gave was louder than any others.haha.for your first time w/o j2's attempting a difficult song like reverie, it is indeed commendable, but certainly, there's alot of room for improvement esp yr facial expressions and confidence lvl on stage!work hard at it alright! =)
den den, had a long day tdy.mr dzul already gave some descriptions abt performance tdy so i shall skip it.anyway, some of us were rather disappointed cos we couldn hear each other like at all.but anyways, ppl said it was rather well played.so we shall see what sort of comments we'll receive then.while waiting for more photos to come in, i shall post some of what i have.
so abv are all tt i have currently.wait for more.
oh thanks azhar for coming down to support us tdy.i don noe if other seniors were there but i only saw azhar.yup.or maybe only know azhar.ok im getting incoherant from a long day out.jus rched hme not long ago. quick updates
28th 29th July: Last for j2's. performance at the EXPO.doubt its a public performance.
so for those seniors who have missed tdy's performance, catch the juniors on 15th Aug at Esplanade.i tink details will be posted up by the new PO =))
ending here.i want to thank everyone for cooperating with my exco, im fortunate to have such a supportive exco, j2's we've seen your dedication and committment & passion for the cca, j1's u've gt a long way to go. i hope that the j1's would give your support to the current exco.till the time when i get more photos.
add on: let me be a little emo here.ytd night, i went to the archives, i read the pre and post syf posts.as ive mentioned to all before, SYF2007 would be an experience worth the effort and tears.i read n re read each post, what flooded my mind was realli the syf scenerio, flashbacks of our late night practices, the day when we had fun circling while playing, the building up of pressure as all cca's be4 us did well, the lousy playing in the sch hall be4 leaving, the unpleasant practices when u guys have to bear an earful frm me, the many times when i wanted to tell u guys how great u all were but kept it within me for the fear of it leading to complacency, the times when i felt like breaking down bt i know i had to be strong, the day of syf when we saw the beautiful costumes of other schs, the magical stage which we brought alive, the amazed audience whu were captivated by our enchanting music, our outstanding blazer which drew attention of others, the mani hugs and whispers backstage to jia you, the encouragement; dedication; passion and love of everyone in the ensemble; teachers and conductor, the shattering of the beautiful dream, the broken hearts which took awhile to recover.believe me, all this will stay with u like how its staying with me.as a j2 whu's leaving the ensemble soon, i know, u guys all have yr wonderful share.sit dwn n tink n u'll realise tt the ensemble has realli given us alot.more than wat we can ask for, so all the more, we shud give back by realli owning the stage at EXPO next week. long n emo entry.
30 mins performance Intro : Theme from Mission Impossible Hayat Medley of Rivers of Babylon and Stand By Me Wave of Hope Reverie Medley Of Pantun Budi and Zapin Faridzal Ham
We came, we played and off we go...chop chop...haha Everything went well, from the applause i believed the audience enjoyed the performance..well done people Especially Reverie!...well played...beautifully delivered I brought my camera but din hv time to snap snap...only got these two, taken in school b4 going to suntec. J2s, ur third last performance...i'm gonna miss u guys :( The juniors, stay together, train hard...we still hv few performances left for this yr..keep the NJ's angklung spirit and reputation high! BTW, Harry Potter did not die. (sigh)...hehe
Today, the J2Exco finally took the backseats for the J1s to emerge and take over the reins. well...as such this definitely calls for celebration! haha. hence the J2 ex-Excos did some last minute scaring and commanding over lunch at pizzas'. well it was joyous with food and food and more food! haha. so anw here are some pics for picture grabbers and you guys to just have a look. wernt really glam since everyone was experiencing the after meal effects which made us all really sleepy!heh.maybe except pasta eaters who are able to open their eyes larger than normal....pasta is energy food?!haha joking. Good LUCK J1s! You can do it! (:
Today was a good session...i think one of the few bests. Thank you all. Nice to see all of u again. Watever u may be feeling right now...... Don't worry Be happy! stay kewl, stay cute, and remember each and everyone of us hv the power to make it happen. Just think positive. We'll hv a blasting performance !
