First and foremost, congrats!!!You guys are the pioneers of the Hall of Fame. I'm sure in time to come, you will come back to NJc and as you walk pass the wall you will see the familiar faces and knows that you had contributed to NJC n the success of Angklung.

To the seniors and the super duper seniors...don't be dissappointed that u did not feature in the Hall of Fame. Be proud that we are where we are today to your great effort and dedication to the CCA..you guys will always be in MY Hall of Fame. That bring me to my next point....NJC Angklung Alumni!!!!!!

Maybe, this will be the time that this plan will finally be realised. NJC Angklung Alumni will be formed and ALL are welcome. Whether you r from 2006 or 1996 or earlier...do drop me an e-mail at bosozokuster@yahoo.com to voice your interest. We will try to arrange for a meet up cum welcome celebration for the alumni once the numbers are in....it is during this time that we will roll out the plans for the Angklung Alumni. Maybe we can be called AA Anonymous...

Secondly, mr Dzul's much awaited solo concert is coming up on the 24th NOvember 2007. EVERYONE, mark that date on your calendar. Spread to all that you know...post it in your blog and spam to all emails to inform them of this concert. And, the best thing is that, you can have the chance to be a part of this legendary concert!!Dont miss this chance to perform infront of thousands of people at the Fort Canning Park. JC 1, you guys are so down for it...and the AA menbers...r u guys up for it??

Lastly, we are invited to participate in the International Angklung Festival in Malaysia from 4th to 6 January. There will be participants from Malaysia, indonesia, thailand and japan so, it's gonna be a blast. R u guys keen on taking part??

So guys....quite a few things coming up. In the meantime, CHIONG-ah...for the JC 2s. Fr the JC 1s, better start studyiig n revising if u hvnt done so. For the IP 1 n 2...take ur time....the road is long...

Hello hello....thank you for the box of little stars! I've read all ur messages during the ceremony....sweet :) However, i was soooooo engrossed with the food that i forgot to bring the little box back! (yes..yes i'm an old man). Luckily, Xuesi sms me said that the box is in good hand...phew!
Anyway, xuesi, that was a mighty fine speech...clap clap clap! (i tink its youtubeable...haha)
And to all angklunites (syf AND non syf), congratulations for making into the Hall Of Fame...may we strive for greater height and success.

haha a late update of photos =Pp had been so busy recently.. argh.. spent a looongloooong time trying upload just these few photos, so pardon me if u find these photos too few.

p.s. i shall try to upload the photo of some of the guys mugging at the amphi, but only after i manage to find tt photo haha =Pp (i think the guys would kill me if they see it.. shh.. u dont say, i dont say, they wont know, unless they visit the blog ) oh, and i was so tempted to upload an unglam photo of wenqi sleepin!! but decided to be nice to her la, so dint put up haha

Hiya everyone! Hi Mr Dzul! Hi Mr Fuad!

This is Fabian a senior from long ago. Nice see everyone so involved here. Hope everyone is coping well in school. I am 'Hi' btw in the tagboard.

I need to ask if anyone saw my SYF cert (year 2005) lying around for the past 2 years anywhere in school? I didn't receive it back after we had to send it to be signed by Mrs Cheng. (maybe Mrs Cheng liked my cert so much she decided to keep it). I really really miss my cert very badly, maybe previous exco will be more familiar with it. Appreciate if anyone will help me with it. =)

Hello all!...howz Open Day? no pics leh?...heard u guys had fun...great! The year coming to an end...eh not really lah, but going to..soon, that means exams are nearer, oh sorry to remind u on this, but u cant avoid it lah. Hope u guys spent ur days fruitfully, especially with no Saturdays practice now...if u hv not done anything yet, its about time and its never too late to start , at least better than sitting doing nothing other than worrying.
To the seniors especially...all the best with ur prelims and eventually ur As, i'm sure u guys will do well...and dont worry too much, think positive.
To all, tell urself that u can do, and the know-how-to-do will develop by itself. I've been stressing this phrase many many times, ...why?...becos i say this to myself every morning every single day and it works....it gets all that negativity out from ur system.
I'll see u guys soon....take care!

Well done! yet another great performance from the NJC angklung ensemble. This time, the debut performance from the juniors. And from now onwards u are the main players, the core players of NJC's angklung...no more shall u be called as the juniors. You have successfully crossed over and will be continuing the legacy till nxt year around this time where u will pass over to ur juniors.
To all the J2s angklunites, u hv trained the current members well...as some of u hv witnessed it just now at the esplanade. Thank you for the hard work...and thank you for the support. Same goes to the old guards of angklunites, members of 2005 and 2006, so good to see all of u again...i hope the idea of forming an alumni will follow thru and become a reality...
I am sooo proud with each single one of you..players and supporters.

I think we nailed it just now, at the esplanade...by looking at the audience reaction, i'm sure u felt too. The players pressed on to the second set, eventhough can see from ur faces that u are shacked.....even myself..hahaha.
Well done....nxt stop will be at the Taman Warisan this coming Sunday....this is another important event...and for me, its extra important...i've told u why during our prac session rite? ssshhh... heee.

No prac this saturday...u guys deserve the break... and make FULL use of that break, knowing that fri u'll be bz with the Open Day thingy and half of Sunday will be goned....gone doing something that will uphold the school's name and also live up the spirit of NJC angklung ensemble.

j1s, in case u were confused by my long de-brief on last tues, i shall repeat wat i've said =Pp :

next tues (14/8) pract 4pm.
next wed (15/8) all ak j1s dismissed at 2pm. 2.45pm sharp gather in tc with angklungs. performance at esplanade should be starting at 7, ending ard 8 plus. 2 way transport provided!
next sat (18/8) may not have pract, depending on ur performance on wed =)) tt' s our deal, rmb?
next sun(19/8) Taman Warisan performance (10-12 am) at Malay Heritage Centre
wed (22/8) Combined practice with Malay dance * Tentative
fri (24/8) NJ Open house
sat (25/8) no pract!!!! (bet everyone's cheering yea? haha)
wed (29/8) Combined practice with Malay dance * Tentative

pls be punctual =) i've repeated lots of time, each and everyone of u are important to the whole ensemble, pls dont assume tt the whole cca can start first w/o u =)) sometimes it's jux hard to practise any song when the important notes are missing. (well of cos every note is impt, but.. aiya, u noe wat i mean haha) yepps.

oh yar, btw, thx to the guys, for helping to carry the kolintangs for every cca pract yea? and since mark and nabil have "volunteered" to help find photos for the open day thing, we (the gals) shall try to help carry kolintangs (for one session =Pp) to show appreciation for ur efforts :)

kkx, j1s, i know everyone have been busy and tired recently, there seemed to be no break for us since syf, but... endure!! think of the seniors who are busy and tired too!! I bet they would feel more stressed than us, with a levels coming up etc, and all we are stressed (supposingly) with is pw and Vas. take care of yourselves. ( people whom i know fell sick- huaice, maythant, carline, ronda, shiying, myself!!! etcetc.. ) take care, and rest well!! i noe it's hard to rest well with lots oh hw to do (integration sums), but, as the cliche saying goes" take a break to continue a longer journey" (soundsa bit weird? well of cos, it's a direct translation from the chinese saying haha)

oh man. i think im really naggy. urgh. wateva. haha. once i've started chatting, okie, i mean, writing, it's hard to stop me. hmmm.. characterisitic of an arts student? haha. okie. see everyone soon!!!

I've read the tagboard...I'm so sorry XUESI. haha and yes mr.tan, i was the one who spelt angklung wrongly like anklung. I've since learnt okays? As all of you can see now, apparently language isn't my best subject. Hahaz...>.< and to the anonymous j1, i think i havent paid too...so im unsure whether its fifteen or twelve dollars.

the two edible flower decoration for the first dish on both days of the EXPO performances(anyway, the dishes were exactly the same for both days so...)

i know that the arrangement of the pictures and words are weird but it's my first try so pls do forgive me. and erm, i have more pictures but more personal ones...so i wont post them. Carline asked me to post her pictures if I have any as "everyone wanna see my cute and tiny face..." that's wad she said. but i shall not. muhahaz...and one more thing, in case some angklungnites are still wondering exactly how we sound during Suntec performance despite Mr. Tan's videos...i have the mp3 and well, it includes Mr. Fuad talking too! haha, its pretty ok. those who want it, pls approach me. I can bluetooth to you like what I've done for Jieying but warning: its a huge file. whole thing is 30 mins long. i forgot to ask my daddy to help cut it into separate songs...its 40++MB. By the way, Jieying got the mp3 file from me to learn her new note at home as she missed practice on Tuesday due to NDC. See? She's so hardworking...pls learn from her. maybe i can post the song on this blog too...but i don't know how to -_- im not IT-savvy. I wanted to ask xueshi or someone to help me post after the Suntec performance but as you can see, I havent approach anyone...and so not many ppl know the existence of this mp3. now that i have access to this blog, im telling all who read the blog. Ohya, fujian and xinyu heard the whole thing before. both on the day of the first expo performance. And Fujian suggested that I should let all listen.

btw, theonethatshallnotbeknown is the one who wants her photo posted...

and one more last thing, next time, whoever posts, can you please make the font bigger? because the normal font size is really puny. I'm not sure if its the same for everyone's computer? sorry but seriously, I dont blog until now and I really dont know if it appears similar to all or what.

ok first of all, i come to this blog often, just that i don't tag so you cannot see mi >.<>
ok exactly 6 more days to our debut "solo" outdoor performance at the durian. the QMs have reallocated new notes for some of you, so please do log onto the KM which you paid $15 dollars for to download the scores and learn. Remember, its FIFTEEN DOLLARS use the KM wisely lol. try to memorise the scores for ALL the songs by tuesday. NO wait. MUST! cuz tuesday will be our last practice before the actual thing and I'm sure that no one wants to panic the day before and end up nervous during the performance. Even if you really forgot to play your note, do what we've been told to do so for so many times---stay calm and pretend it was on purpose.
ok i shall end this post. I desperately need sleep. Bye to all reading this.

...15th Aug @ Esplanade Concourse 7pm, debut public performance from the juniors. Playing two sets, 30mins each set. Calling all seniors and grand seniors...come n support them. Once an angklunite will always be an angklunite.

Angklung alumni in the making.... we'll make it happen.

Also, on the 19th Aug (Sun) 10am at Malay Heritage Centre (Kg Glam, bugis). Nj's angklunites performing for the Malay Arts Festival.

hello all,probably this will be my last post before i start to really chiong hard.wanted to post earlier but the eye infection is still giving me problems.sigh.anyway, let me first thank the juniors on behalf of all the j2's for coming up with this wonderful farewell, we really enjoyed it very much.what ive gt to say in the following paragraphs realli comes from the bottom of my heart.

to the juniors ( i dont know how many of you visit the blog but aiyah this is for u guys) : on wed, what the seniors wanted to take away is definitely not how well u played the song for us, we are very touched tt u all came up with the idea of playing us that song, well most of us especially me wanted to see u guys enjoy and relax while playing and sincerity was all that matters.i could sense your sincerity while playing,thank you so much for burning so mani days of practices just for us,i cant tell u how touched i really felt when i saw that u guys realli were making the effort to enjoy the song while swaying!u c, u guys are actually capable of smiling & swaying when u all play!pls keep it up n i wanna c it at esplanade alright!thats the right spirit,to feel the music.tt song was enough to move me to tears.hehe!i actually overheard u guys playing on one of the practice sessions =p.
anyway,you guys realli have approximately a year more to go,treasure the time in the ensemble,dont regret tt everything passes too quickly next yr ( like hw i am now ) & of cos study hard to get promoted!all the best to you all.though i always scold u all for not taking much initiative in the cca, i guess u guys are really improving and im glad to c much much more effort from the whole planning n execution of farewell!jia you.

j2's: its been a wonderful experience working with you guys,let me ramble a little.i rmb i joined angklung only in april last yr i guess.so im like one of the rather late intakers.den i rmb us working hard to practice for esplanade den eclectic.we changed from supporting seniors role to taking over in charge roles.how we turned from a full strength ensemble of 60 plus ppl to half the strength when we dont even need to shift the furnitures for practices.how we constantly reminded ourselves tt we can do it w/o the seniors.how we spent the last day of the yr at survivor party performing and enjoying ourselves.remember during the cca carnival,our aim was to beat the rest n find as mani juniors as possible to join us?so we went around with our angklungs to catch the attention of the juniors?how i found out tt some of u guys were slacking in the hall enjoying air con but had a list full of names to offer.hees.every little bit,then on came more invitations but we turned them down in order to focus on syf.we practiced v hard for ode to joy, in the end it wasnt the syf song?rmb when we were thinkin of a name for our syf song,before we ended up with reverie we had names like 'bo mia'suggested by peck yan n finally settled on reverie as noreen has suggested.how zapin the song which we are so used to playing turned into an syf song.the frustrations when we had to try to get used to a new arrangement when we just got used too the old one?when someone would accidentaly hit a note when he/she not supposed to n the whole ensemble starts to laugh?i wish we can turn back the time to those practices whereby we'll be affected by peiyi, wenqi n peckyan's influential laughters!all these memories, plus tt of our late night sessions, the session which we al felt so satisfied with as we played successfully with feel between the LT's,the syf day itself the strength of the ensemble and passion to play despite the rain in the morning,the buffet after SYF,the failed attempts when we wanted to make morning announcements (cos it always rains)then the moaning over the shortage of break as college day n sisc came right after.then suntec n the memorable EXPO performance,on sat we were expecting some yummy food n in the end disappointed haha!n a satisfactory n proud last time on sunday.the way which we shouted zapin was like a release of emotions,i felt it.

dear j2's,thank you for all your support throughout this period.writing the above makes me wanna cry.hope it brings back some memories of yrs too.if it wasnt for u all,i wouldnt have the strength to come this far.thank you for believing in me n my exco.for every single thing tt u've done.we've rching the crucial end of our jc life,the ultimate aim i guess of coming to jc is to graduate with good A'lvls grades, work hard everyone!

to the teachers and conductor: be4 u guys say tt im long winded, i better stop myself from rambling on.u guys are like the strong pillar of support, unwavering ones.your belief in us spur us on to move forward.really,i hope more batches of angklung members will benefit under u're guidance.

ending here.once an angklungnite,always an angklungnite.remember this.
we all know tt its time to part,but the invisible bond tt lies between us will nv fall apart.whatever it is,these memories will stay,forever.

Hello everyone...it's been a while since I last wrote anything here.I nearly missed the farewel this time round. Like all other farewell, I always try to make it but never been able to come on time or have to leave early for some other appointment. I did not get to record any message for the seniors and I apologize for that. The organizer had approached me a few times but, me and my busy schedule always forget to record my messages to the seniors.

to the seniors, every year since I took over Angklung I never like attending farewell but it is during the farewell that you realised that the graduating batch had grown so much in maturity and as you reflect back to their contributuion, you start to wonder where will angklung be without each and everyone of them.To the seniors, each and everyone of you is special. There is no individual that can say that they had brought Angklung to a level she is today...not even me. It is through all the effort and commitment of every single soul that don the colours of the Angklung Ensemble that Angklung managed to stand and be recognised not only in NJC but also throughout Singapore I dare say.

You are the reason that Angklung survive and be proud of that. I'm proud of each and everyone of you. To the excos, your leadership is indeed unquestionable. You've proven that you have what it takes to lead and have proven to yourself that nothing is impossible as long as you put your mind to it...

Once again, to the sbniors, luv you all...and thank you for the fond memories..and Best of luck for your A levels. Rest assured that I will be praying for your success.
