We are a group of carefree students who have gathered together,
regardless of bawahs, normals, atas, kulintang and percussions
to create music like none other with our conductor, Mr Dzul. :D

Hi people, here are some information about the chalet on 5th December.

Location: Aloha Loyang
Chalet Type: Garden Bungalow (either 3 or 4, depending on which one we taking over from canoeing), single storey with four rooms, enough for all to sleep in
Food: Catered from eatz Catering, to be paid from school Angklung funds, will be ready by 7pm, please supply your own snacks and buy additional drinks

Details like what time to meet and stuff to bring will be decided by the exco. Hope they can announce it on this blog so that the seniors (and any other "older" people) will know.

All Angklungnites are invited to the chalet to eat, drink and have fun!

....and this does not only apply to all seniors, it also applies to you Fuad. You will always be NJC's angklunites..eventhough i've known you for close to 3 years.....only, but i can see and sense the commitment and effort u hv put into this cca.....where the cca stands now actually a large part of it comes from you, we are just continuing the foundation and legacy that you hv set. Wish u all the best in your future endeavour...hey! this is not a goodbye, ... we'll keep in touch...kopi at Lucky maybe? or Adam? haha.

The last two performances at the Fort Gate were phenomenally awesome.....my fellow musicians were amazed to see you guys played ur angklungs. Audience were captivated..i hv received numerous feedback abt ur performance..good one. The sound might be a bit of a letdown, accompanying music seems to drown the angklungs a little bit, but, i've listened to the recording of the performance and its great...just nice, there will be a video dvd of the two concerts and it will be marketed out...soooon. NJC angklung already got a cd recording and now a dvd!

Last but not least, i would like to apologise to everyone for not being able to spend time with the group during the rehearsals and after the concerts, but i'm sure the waiting wasnt that bad, u enjoyed urselves right?

Oh and to all who stayed and came for DharmaSakti, thank you very mucho! and yes i heard that "WE LOVE U MR DZUL!" loud and clear...hope u guys enjoyed the concert. Seeya guys soon! :)

PS: oh yah, that piano version of Wave Of Hope that u heard during the concert was actually a last minute on the spot impromptu..it was supposed to be another song from my album,but then halfway i just changed to Wave Of Hope....dedicated to u angklunites :P

Dear fellow Angklungnites, I'm sure all of you have heard about the departure of one of NJC teacher, Mr Stephen Loh during the dragon boat incident on Friday. We are truly saddened by his sudden demise and pray that his soul in our own individual way.As a teacher, I'm sure some if not all of you have fond memories under his guidance during PE or otherwise and me, as a colleague, I will always remember his broad smile..even during inter JC staff soccer, where wll of us are panting and he was smiling and running and kicking the ball gleefully!!!

For all of you, you can pen down your thoughts on Mr Stephen Loh on a board prepared by the college and placed at the atrium in NJC or log into KM. Dear all, yesterday was officially the last performance for the year for the juniors. I’m here to say that I totally enjoy your performances for both days and the music that you guys produced was totally awesome and my blowing. The sound of angklung accompanied by the sounds from other musical instruments were just something which will stuck on my mind for a very very long time. And to make it all memorable, that bittersweet feeling I felt will stay forever as I sat on both days looking at the Angklung in white tops on Saturday and wearing the kebaya on Sunday ( actually the kebaya look fabulous on you gals!!!). Watching the performances and I cant believe that 8yrs had passed. I was dazed as memories of the past 8yrs just flash infront of me and the culmination of all the memories are just there right at the stage performing.

Yesterday was officially the last performance that I’m attending in my capacity as the Angklung Teacher in-charge. And, I’m proud to say that I will be leaving with nothing but fond memories knowing that Angklung had indeed come very very far from the last time I knew her in 1999. Kudos to all the members and the excos and not forgetting all the fellow teachers in-charge that had worked together with me in building up the CCA. All this while, I chose to stay with angklung, believing in her ability in her ability to soar, while my fellow teachers in charge keep on changing every year till Mr Tan came. In fact, Mr Tan arrival is timely as I believe, he will bring the Angklung further up and experience new things during his stint as the teacher in charge. I have great faith in him. Chor Yean, thank you for sharing this faith with me and I’m sure you will enjoy the journey with the Angklungnites as much as I do.

Of course, all this will not be possible without Mr Dzul. Since day one he became our instructor, I just knew that he is the man that I’m looking for all this while that will have the courage and the belief to bring Angklung to a level that we have never achieved before. Since 1998 I was lookinging for a new instructor but none is suitable enough as I have high expectations and I want nothing but the best for NJC Angklung. So , to Dzul, you have made everything possible and its been a pelasure working with you and seeing all our dreams becoming a reality. Under your baton, I’m sure Angklung will get nothing but the best and will continue to dream big and the swoon the audience with the wonderful music.

To the Angklungnites ( Juniors, seniors, super seniors, super duper seniors etc), theres too much for me to say but my feelings just could not be transformed through words. The experiences all this while (1999 till 2007) are just surreal. I’ve learned so much from all of you and to part is definitely the last thing on my mind. To the junior, THANK YOU for that wonderful performances over the weekend. It was indeed heart wrenching to hear those music for the last time. Stay united and have faith in each other cos, only with solidarity that every obstacles can be overcome. Always remember that in Angklung, EVERYONE MATTERS, and EVERY ANGKLUNGNITES is a LEADER. Believe in yourself and others will see your worth.

Lastly, thank you EVERYONE for the fond memories, the great friendship forged and the beautiful experiences all this while. As I look back, I will remember this experience forever. Thank you.

hmm. okok, tmr is our performance, so everyone jux have a goodgood rest tonight and see u all tmr morn!! (ard 0630-0645 haha. super early lah.. but.. no choice la huh)

Hiiii!!!~ yeah! angklung practices have finally resumed after this really long break! jux a reminder to j1s and to inform our dear seniors or grand grand seniors, here are our upcoming events/performances! :

1) 17th november, sat morning>> 'International Toastmasters club' performance@ YWCA
2) 24th november, sat evening>> Fort Canning performance (Mr Dzul is the music director!)
3) 25th november, sun evening>> Mr Dzul's concert@ Fort Canning (tickets at $20 each! seniors can come and support mr dzul!)
4) 5th december, noon till 6th december morning>> nj Angklung ensemble chalet@ Aloha Loyang! :) all seniors are invited to come!!
5) 4th- 6th january 08>> International Angklung Fiesta@ Malaysia, KL
6) April 08>> Our first very own angklung concert@ Esplanade!!!!! wohoo!!~ (details will be finalised at a later date)
7) May/June 08>> Trip to Indonesia!! (details will be confirmed later)

Well.. of cos this list may go on cos it is not inclusive of any enrichment programs or adhoc performances!! :)

As such, here is the schedule of our practices:

7th nov, wed>> 0900-1100
9th nov, fri>> 1100-1430
10th nov, sat>> 0830-1230

12th nov, mon>> 1600-1900
14th nov, wed>> 1100-1400
16th nov, fri>> 1130-1430 (tentative practice, depending on our progress)
17th nov, sat>> morning prac, followed by performance. time will be confirmed later

19th nov- 22nd nov>> keep these days free for practices, time will be confirmed later
24th nov- 25th nov>> should be having prac on 24th noon, since performance in the evening

24th dec-29th dec (last week of dec hols)>> pls keep this week free as we will be having practices, but most probably will be on the 26th (wed) and 29th (sat)

1st jan-3rd jan>> having practices too, before we go kl!!! =)

then, after the kl trip, we'll be preparing really really hard for our concert.. first impression last eh.. our first concert.. hmmms. mux make it a real success! we can do it as long as we stay united and work towards this same goal!!!

alrite.. hmm.. it'll really be a tough time ahead with so many performances on the list, but i'm sure none of you will regret joining angklung when at the end of nxt year, everyone will have loads of wonderful memories and experience together, as one cca. Many of us may be complaining bout overwhelming practices and performances now, but, trust me, when we graduate, one of the best memories that we have in nj will be about the tiring practices, bout how we screw up or performed well in any performances. Wouldn't it be sad if you were in a cca that remains the same before you join and after you join? Well, I'm sure tha nj angklung ensemble wouldnt be the same one year later, if we all stay united and committed and work towards our concert-the final showdown before the j1s step down nxt year. yepps. i hope none of you will be feeling too stressed over the packed schedule yeah? if u are.. well.. facing some.. emotional problems.. hmm.. can try look for the teachers or me yeah.. but.. i cant assure you tt i wont aggravate ur situation.. hahaha =Pp

okok. woo.. wat a long entry. haha. weather quite hot recently ar, everyone pls take care, drink lots of water, and dont fall sick k?? see u all nxt practice!!! =)
