Thanks everyone(especially the juniors) for the wonderful time at the farewell. It really feels good to be back with the CCA agn. Like what Mr Tan said, school life may be dull but its really the CCA which fill my jc life with colours.( Mr Tan has finally inspired me with his lesson on life.woooo..) Life goes on, but strong impressions never fade away. I m sure all the seniors will miss the CCA.
To all the juniors: Good Luck for your upcoming performance at the Esplanade. I believe you guys can definitely do a good job and live up to the expectations of the ensemble. just keep having faith and be confident! (: We are really proud and glad to have you guys as our juniors. jia you yeah!
Last but not least to our dearest Mr Dzul: Thanks for being such a wonderful piecec of out lives! you never fail to brighten up our day and motivate us. We are really grateful and glad to have you as our conductor! Dont stop smiling and saying lame jokes yeah! (: hehe I believe this is definitely not the end of our journey as an Angklungnite yeah! like what Michell said: Once an Angklungnite, forever an Angklungnite!
Even though CCA has ended but i believe nth is lost. all the things you have ever seen and hear will always be with you.
let me side track a little. hehe. The dark knight is a must watch man!. for those who haven watch it. you gotta go catch it! its damn good!haha. plus you get to see the hot Christain Bale in action. hohoho. To Hilda and Maythant: Christain Bale is so much hotter then Johnny Depp (did i spell his name wrongly?haha) :p
Ok this is wad i ATTEMPTED to type in the tagboard. apparently it doesnt accept more than 500 words, so here it is:
To all juniors: thank you very much for the wonderful farewell you guys have put together and more importantly, the amazing experience you guys gave us(vomitting of blood while teaching you people...haha jkjk)...i noe you guys(and gals) are very busy preparing for the huge amount of upcoming performances and most probably dead beat. BUT! Think! It's bcuz of the fact that others like our playing that they invite us to perform. so the more the merrier...yeah relax and enjoy each and every performances and the level of smiling that we achieved the previous time WILL be maintained. ok longest tag ever haha BYE~~ jiayou jiayou add oil add oil ;D

Haha hello! This post is specially dedicated to everyone, the juniors, j2s, teachers and mr dzul :) Aiya, i forgot tt according to tradition, the pres must give a speech on farewell la, then didnt prepare at all and i gave a super short one just now haha. (eh i know all of u mux be glad tt I didnt prepare right, haha. if not i say super long then u all will doze off =Pp)
kk, firstly.. to the j2s :) yar yar i know I've said many times- thanks for ur support for the exco over the past one year.. but but but. it's true wat!! haha. and in fact, it's not jux about ur support. it's the friendship that I truly treasure. We've gone through so much together.. I believe when u guys updated the caal portfolio and did the reflections, u all would have recalled the fun times we had together.
Syf- we had intensive practices till very late, we were all tired, not fully used to jc life yet, hectic schedule, tons of hw, two complicated scores to memorise etc etc. But we all pulled through. GOLD. We did not achieve Gold with Honours. but who cares? jux get it nxt year! we took part in the competition not to win awards, but to test how far we can go. On that day, when I was standing on the stage. I knew we had reached our peak. The audience applauded for us like siao. haha. serious. we were great. well done j2s.
Racial Harmony Day performance- our first performance without the seniors. some j2s were updating their caal and they asked me, "what was that?" haha. and my reply was, "aiyo, the disastrous performance at LT5 la!" haha. and then they remembered. this was what i meant. we have the same memories together, the same set of feelings and the same kind of experience. all these pull us together and make us united. our performance that day was really not very fantastic haha. we played reverie and there were OBVIOUS missing notes for part of the song. looking back at it now, i believe all of us would laugh at our performance rather than blame ourselves for not putting in more effort that time. this is because we know we have done our best.
IRIR night 2007- the ten or dunno how many course dinner!! haha there were really many dishes lor, im sure everyone can rmb haha. The most memorable thing tt i remembered (unless i was dreaming)was about this particular dish which I wanted to eat but I think Nabil or Ivan said that it looked like mucus =.= (did i spell it correctly? haha aiya u all understand can already). yar. and obviously i had no appetite after tt.
There were really so so so many performances and fun time tt we had together tt I really cant state out one by one in this post, if not many of u will scold me for spamming the blog haha. all i want to say is tt, to all j2s, memories are not to be taken for granted. think about it, if you have not joined angklung, would you have all these memories? would you have known all those good friends tt you've made in angklung for the past one year plus? would you have met mr dzul? would you have shaken President S.R Nathan's hands for IRIR? (haha kk i know this example somehow ruins the impact of my lines). i know i wouldnt have loved the cca if not for each and everyone of u.
thanks to u guys who have made a difference to 2007-2008 nj angklung ensemble.
FINALLY... =) study hard for ur prelims and A's!! i know u guys can do it!! (er-hem. except that mr I*A* who always do super well for exams huh, no need study so hard since you confirm can get 4As haha. nope, dont be so sensitive, i am NOT talking about ivan. lol. )
-The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary-
Next, to the juniors.. (I'll keep my msg shorter la haha. i know im naggy but i really want say a lot to u ppl!!) It's freedom time!! haha. yepps. the seniors wont be 'watching' u guys anymore, so u all should treasure such good days yeah? lol. nxt year, when UR juniors come, it'll be ur turn to be role models and cannot play as much le ar haha.
I know u all are very busy now, having to learn new songs for upcoming performances. u guys may be tired and may start feeling stressed out. My advice to all of u is this- understand the purpose of the perfomances. the only way for one to be motivated is to make one realise the rationale for doing tt particular thing. why am i having intensive practices?- because i need it. why do i need to practise?-because i have an upcoming performance. why is there a performance?-because the ensemble has been invited. why am i involved?- because I am part of the ensemble. why am i part of the ensemble?-because I HAVE A PASSION FOR ANGKLUNG AND THAT IS WHY I JOINED IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Only when u understand why u are coming for practices/gg for performances will u find wat u have been doing worthwhile. In my opinion, all practices are meaningful and useful in their own way only if one decides to make it so. The success of each practice isnt determined by the excos or mr dzul. It is determined by the response tt u guys give. Music or noise, it's up to each and everyone of u.
Lastly.. jux want to say.. enjoy the practices and do ur best alrite? we seniors will miss ya :)
To the teachers (Mr Fuad, Mr Tan, Ms Rahaa)...
Haha. ok i dunno if the teachers managed to survive reading thru my above messages, but anw, this message is specially for u all, on behalf of the seniors:)
Thanks for being there to support us for the past year..
Dear Mr Fuad, thanks for giving us motivating speeches last year when we were j1s, nope they didnt freak us out haha. instead, your encouragement spurred us to do our best in balancing both schoowork and cca.
Dear Mr Tan, thanks for putting in so so much effort in managing the cca, especially during the concert period. thanks for replying to all my queries and pestering regarding cca matters during weekends, when u are supposed to be happily out on a date or having a good rest haha. thanks.
Dear Ms Rahaa, thanks for guiding us and giving us encouragement when we need it. We really appreciate that :)
Last but not least.. Dear Mr Dzul (the most charismatic conductor ever), thanks for making all our practices so enjoyable and fun. ur jokes are REALLY lame. but funny. haha. thanks for teaching us values tt are impt in life. u are not jux our conductor. U are an educator, a motivator and of cos, not forgetting, Transformer!! hahaha.
Okay, this is really the last thing I want to say lol.. ANGKLUNG OI!!!! :) I know I may not be the best pres ever but I have, to the best of my ability, tried to make Angklung Ensemble the best cca, for each and everyone of u, so that you all can have the best memories in NJ.
Once an Angklungnite, always an Angklungnite. -Michell -
I'm really sorry but I fell sick today after many weeks of resisting my flu and sore throat. Here, I want to sincerely apologise to all the seniors for not being there to celebrate this senior farewell with you all. I was lying on the bed at home, thinking about what was happening during the farewell. I really hoped you guys enjoyed the day today; whether it was the power point presentation, the food or the presents and letters to each and everyone of you. I really hope you guys will appreciate them. The juniors really placed a lot of effort in making the gifts, although it may not be up to professional standards. (:
It is my regret that I am not able to be there today to witness the fun and laughter that you guys shared on your very last day of cca. Since I wasn't able to attend it, I thought it only proper to write a simple message to all you seniors.
The past seven months had been tiring and hectic, for both juniors and seniors. I still remember when I first stepped into TA32, how the music really touched my heartstrings, which made me want to be part of this wonderful, bonded community that makes such beautiful music. And indeed, after joining this cca, my hypothesis has proven true. That nj angklung is a warm cca with all sorts of caring and funny people.
The preparation for the Reminiscence concert and the memorization of scores after scores of music pieces; the time spent laughing, talking and eating; the many scandals between the few male seniors and the rest of the female senior population of angklung; listening to Mr Dzul's interesting encounters and his ever entertaining jokes; reading Times or doing your tutorials while the practice session was carried out in that crammed TA 32 on the third floor, have now become a memory. Wouldn't you agree, dearest seniors, that somehow or rather, amongst all that franticness and complaints, there's still this feeling of accomplishment and joy after every concert or performance? The feeling of, "Whoa, finally it's over", "Our hardwork paid off" and "Yeah, it was a good performance" kind of thing. And now even as you recollect those times when you would whine and grumble when Michell said there was an extra practice this particular week or perhaps an announcement regarding ending practices late, there's this sweetness that lingers, like an aftertaste so strong that it engraves it's aroma into your very taste buds when it has finally come to an end?
I believe these one and a half years spent in angklung ensemble will remain an indelible experience and memory in each one of you. Keep on rocking on seniors. For you have been the best mentors to us. The very best.
Thank you seniors, for being so patient with us.
Thank you seniors, for lending a helping hand when we needed it.
Thank you seniors for sharing jokes and laughing with us.
Thank you seniors, for creating a second home where we can find shelter after a stressful day in school.
Thank you seniors, for creating that ambiance and culture that made this cca such a comfortable and enjoyable one.
There's no mountain too high that you can't overcome. Believe in yourselves and do to the best of your abilities!
Here's wishing all seniors the best in their coming Prelims and A'levels. Praying for all of you (:

Finally, I would like to apologize to the J4 and the J1s for my apparent lack of intellect with regards to the continuous editing of the same post for announcements. I thank you, very much in fact, for pointing that mistake out to me.
Yup so J1s, if you guys feel my post are very vague or anything, please point it out to me.
I just realised that activities added under CAAL cannot be awarded CIP hours. Thus there is a need to reclassify some activities as CAAL and CIP separately. An activity cannot be classified under CAAL and CIP at the same time (MOE system lah...)
I have uploaded the file "2007-2008 CCA Involvement.xls" on KM Angklung Public Resource Folder. Please download the list and add the activities accordingly.
Please note that every activity's name is added "WORD FOR WORD". Please do not attempt to add your own activity. I will reject them.
Thank you and hope you cooperate with me. This is the first year using KM SPS so it's quite messy! :)

The results of the IRIR auditions are out. We have achieved a Merit award. Not sure if it comes with a cash award.
Senior farewell will be on 30th Julydue to many seniors not being able to attend on 26th July. Refreshments will be provided. Dear seniors please understand that the juniors are preparing for a major performance on 8th August at the Esplanade so the senior farewell may not be that elaborate. Here's the second and last video that I have of the children from Bandung performing...the video quality is bad, with the focusing in and out but even so its evident that they are swaying~~~ We should strive to reach that level of playing and stage presence and the IRIR audition this wednesday shall be our first test. SMILE!!! :)))
