Heyzzzzz angklunites! Here are five pics from the farewell on 30th July that I’ve just received…still carn upload the ones taken at esplanade though. I think the blog hates my pics and loves shiying’s and anw, the ones taken by my cam are a bit de blur…ITS THE LIGHTING KAES!!! NOT MY SKILL! It worked perfectly for mi todae…the vids are coming SOON (tentatively) :P others holding on to photos pls post them up!!
On a side note, ytd i’ve given all the current exco members admin permissions so you gurls can go ahead and revamp the whole blog and give it a new lease of LIFE!!! =D
Somehow, seeing the juniors perform last nite made me feel seriously old. And the fact that we've already stepped down started to sink in. Farewell that day still felt so...not over. Now it seems like we're really graduating. Dunno how to phrase it well, i'm not good in GP like mich or joce so pardon me. Ohmien im at a loss of words now…
time flies…it seemed not too long ago that I shared the stage at the concourse with my fellow j2s for the FIRST time WITHOUT any seniors with us at all, and we saw the nice nice toilets + nice nice make up mirrors :P
all the wonderful memories are starting to flood into my dendrites (mr dzul, issit liddat? erps, two years w/o bio le =.=) and well, I’ve enjoyed being able to perform with the current j3s, j2s and j1s for these two years – the fooling around, taking of pics, fear that we do not perform to expectations when we actually did (suntec city 2007), the tribal thingy where we play while marching/hopping in circles? (oh!!! We haven tried it this yr with the j1s b4 eh?? Haha nvm, next yr rmb to implement it agn k mr dzul! Its fun!! =)))))) and yeah the word angklung is etched in my brain now and ill nvr forget how to spell it agn…=.= exco0607 shld noe wad im toking abt. U guys “traumatized” mi so much..
to the j1s must learn to appreciate every session cuz u may not think so, but ull start missing the CCA once u graduate from it. Its the late, tired nights that bonded us so last year during the syf period so for SYF 2009 dun comprain k! it’ll be worth it when u stand on that huge stage in spore conference hall and play for ur life and hearing compliments from other schools about ur performance and finally, hearing the announcement of the results, hands held tightly with ur friends together, heads down in prayer and in the end no matter the results, cheer so loudly for angklung that ur voices become hoarse.
its super rdm and disorganized la this post, but yeah I wanna thank the teachers, mr dzul, and all the members for the wonderful experience during the whole period of preparation for Reminiscence. I’ve learnt a lot abt many other things thru this although I believe that theres always room for improvement and more to learn. Once agn, sry ah mrtan made u miss ur dinner that nite…and thanks agn to the guys for carrying all the instruments for all the external performances! U guys are MOCHA(not macho)! >.<
to the exco members, ive learnt and grown a lot with u bunch too. nth to do with the gossips and the scandals that we share whenever we have a meeting (oops! Haha jkjk no la, we really got do stuff one k…) jialing the one who no sense of direction like mi, carline who is super auntie, amy who provides most of the gossip :O , joycelyn who’s as crazy abt food as c-r---e is abt _______, xinyu the auto-auntie(zi4 dong4 sao3) who’s my partner in crime(yeah yeah blame us if u dun like ur note =.= we wun change it for u na na ni poo poo =P), michell the super long debriefer + blogger haiz so long-winded hahaz…we’re unique in our own ways but we’ve come together and worked as a team. Even if there were disagreements, we alwaes settle it peacefully and im happy that I love u, u love mi, we are happy family!!! its a shame that we could not work together longer to really do more for the cca but keep in touch!!
To mrdzul, I noe ure v. tired running ard teaching so many schools angklung. and even choirs??!! *raises eyebrows* Haha spreading the love of MUSIC eh? But hang in there! Syf coming back, really nid to squeeze ur brains for that particular creative juice and then start triggering next yrs STARS’ dendrites every practice!!! Nid help to squeeze ask us kae..or ask the MOCHA guys to do it for u…
Ok I better stop b4 I become the next michell haha…in short, I’ve enjoyed every single moment with the whole cca and yeah it has really SHAKEN up my life in NJC!

The esplanade performance was totally awesome!! I cant describe in words how happy and delighted and super high i am. These overwhelming feelings are attributed to two main factors. Firstly, to see all the juniors worked so hard for this performance, with only a month to learn and perfecting all the songs, u hv shown the qualities of every NJ angklunites have....determination, dedication and always strive for the best. The teamwork and effort that you've shown are commendable, you have made me the teachers and ur seniors very proud, very very proud. Your hard work has paid off....every single one of you has gained a very priceless experience and satisfaction that u will carry for the rest of your life apart from growing millions n million of dendrites (aiyar the one that i told that will grow everytime u do new things). Keep up the good work, stay together and be proud of your ensemble even after u leave NJ, just like wat ur seniors hv demonstrated. Tonite u nailed it! Awesome!....once again well done!Secondly, i'm overwhelmingly happy when i saw the seniors from all the batches since the first year i took over as instructor, all right there giving support to NJ angklung...batch of 2005 right up to 2008! U may not notice, seriously i'm close to tearing (got such werd meh?) when i see al of you there, ur loyalty and support is beyond words...thank you my dear seniors, thank you for the flower and the notes, thank you for your presence...(aiyar, suddenly miss u all)....
Once an angklunite will always be an angklunite!

Please do so by NEXT MONDAY 11th August. I will then collate orders and send them to the manufacturer.
PS: Sad to say, there are some people in college who do not understand the difference between "noise", "sound" and "music". As a group of intelligent people, we must be forgiving ok? Rejoice that you have the gift of appreciating music and be understanding to those who don't have it.

The rehearsals today were....Alright, let's forget about all the upsetting, unhappy and humiliating things that makes bile creep up our throat and cause us to all feel like retching out our dinner. Let's all just forget about it okay? Don't get affected by whatever they said my dear J1s. Forget about today. It's not worth our effort recalling. It's a waste of our precious memory space. Our brains are needed to contain other even more important memories.
I feel so useless you know?
How I'm unable to defend and stand up for this whole ensemble.
How I actually even overlooked a welfare of one particular member.
How I was unable to shield them from humiliation.
It hurts so much that such a united and great bunch of people are facing such idiocy in the college.
You have no idea how I felt when THAT teacher said that. I felt like punching her in the face. Don't worry, I won't be dedicating a whole flaming post to that teahcer. I won't want to run into any defamatory law suit. I'm still sane. I'm still coherent.
I want that person to apologise, for saying that to the bunch of people whom have made my life in nj so worthwhile and enjoyable; for saying all that to the special group of people with such uncanny wit and indisputable high intellectual ability. THAT person, has no idea how much this group of people have slogged and practiced for this performance. THEY have NO idea how important this is to us. THEY have NO idea, absolutely NO idea how much effort this group of people has put in, how serious they have been during every practice; how they would laugh it off even when they felt lethargic and tired; how they would say they're alright when it actually totally sucked.
THAT person has NO right to tell us anything. No right at all.
They have NO right to say that the music we play is noise. It's not noise, it's MUSIC- MUSIC damn it. Music that brings our hairs standing on ends! Do you have something wrong with your ears? I hope you would go to the doctor to get those ear drums cleaned up.
I'm so, so apologetic. I'm so sorry for everything ensemble. Everything you guys have faced today.
When we went to the porch to practice and did swaying movements for the very first time, you have no idea how 'high' I felt. I was just running on adrenaline. I felt like everything was so right- how we're all just here together, for each other, side by side, in the dark of the night, making music with our instruments and just swaying in tandem with the leaves rustling in the wind, without a care of the world.
I just want to say how proud I am of all of you. That no matter what others say, I'll always be proud of all of you. That we'll always be there for each other. (:
ENSEMBLE! Let's hold our heads high and strut down that runway with confidence and assertion on the 8th of August. Let's shake with all our might, emotion,mettle and strength and make Singapore proud. Let's show them what we're made of and what we're all about!

There are major changes with regards to the 8th of August schedule. Please refer to the changes below.
1) Everyone to report to the Angklung room in the morning, 7:30am to have a last run through and warm up before our nj ndp performance at TA32. Please do not be late. We will be practicing from 7:30am to 7:50am.
2) 7:50am we will be bringing our instruments down. Angklungs and drums to be brought along to our resting room at LT 1. Place to put kulingtans before the performance is to be confirmed.
3) We will be setting up our instruments on the platform during 8:20 to 8:25(5 mins) when the school is singing the national songs.
4) 8:25am to 8:30am will be our performance.
5) After which we will be bringing all our instruments back to a TA room on the 1st floor.(tentative to changes) We can take our time for this one, since we have time from 8:30am all the way to 9:45am.
6) 9:50am will be the grand finale where we must all gather and sing the national song- whatever that is.
7) The program for the nj ndp will end perhaps around 10am to 11am.
That's it for our first half of the day.

2) A break from 2pm to 2:30pm will be given.
3) After which, a Final practice will be carried out from 2:30pm to 3pm.
4) The lorry will come at 3pm, All members will help in loading the instruments. The four people who are bringing the instruments to the esplanade are as follows: Jiamin,Hwei Yee, Zeni and Ilyas with Mr Tan too. The lorry will reach the Esplanade at around 4pm -4:30pm. Instruments will be placed in Esplanade's storage room. These four members and Mr Tan(if he wants) will have their dinner orders taken.
5) The rest of the members will have to leave right after loading the instruments onto the lorry to MARINA FOOD CENTER to have dinner. Bus 171 from our school goes to the Esplanade. EVERYONE IS TO EAT QUICKLY. We shall give the journey from school to Marina food center around 1 hour. So we will reach there around 4:15pm perhaps. So technically, we have only about half an hour to 40 minutes to eat.
6) After dinner, we will have to reach the loading bay by 5:10pm(the same one for reminiscence concert) to get our passes.
7) From 5:15pm to 5:40pm, everyone is to get changed into their attires.
8) 5:45pm to 6pm will be the sound check.
9) From 6pm to 7pm we can put our make up and cam whore if you wish (:
10) 7pm we shall set up our instruments.
11) 7:15pm to 7:45pm is our first slot for performance!
12) Next slot will be at 8:15pm to 8:45pm.

NEVER BEFORE SEEN!!! =.=;P
First and foremost, time sure move super duper fast. Like I've mention last year and since 1999 when I took over Angklung, EVERY ANGKLUNG MEMBER MATTERS AND EVERY ANGKLUNG MEMBER IS A LEADER. It is the members that make the CCA and not the other way round. The batch of 2007/2008, you have indeed bring NJC Angklung to another level. you have shown that combination of dedication, hardwork and passion and teamwork will indeed bring success. All of you had shown that NJC Angklungis not about an individual and not about sheer glam etc. Its about being passionate about what you believe in and about the friendship taht you've made with the rest of the Angklungnites be it juniors, seniors or super seniors. College is not just about the A's and the Distinctions...it is more than just that. It is about growing up and discovering one self, building relationships, building resilience and most imprtantly, loving every moment of the JC life as these are the things that you will remember as you look back to the time when you are 17 or 18 years old.
Even though I've left NJC, it is indeed difficult to part and let the day past without me assessing the NJC ANgklung Blog...just to listen to the sound of the angklung played by all of you. It is an addiction...definitely a welcome addiction. Thank you Angklungnites of 2007/2008 for all your beautiful music that you've played.
Lastly, best of luck on your future endeavour and I'm sure all of you will clear through the A level with ease and achiieve what you are most deserving of. Thank you once again and do keep in touch..or at least drop a note in the blog.
Thank you for all the effort that you guys out into our farewell. It was a really great one. Continue with all your hard work during CCA practices and put your best fot forward for each performance. Practice makes perfect so do endure the extra CCA practices that you may have in the future. Last but not least, enjoy your time in Angklung.
To all the Seniors:
Thank you all as well for putting your time and energy into the CCA over the two years. We have all grown to know each other better and had fun times in Angklung. I hope that in the future when we think back of our JC years, we will all remember the good times spent in Angklung. All the best for the coming A levels.

Thank you for dedication to angklung and for making Angklung such an enjoyable CCA. Thx for supporting us and encouraging us. All the pep talks, encouragements etc before and after performances do have an impact on us( i mean a positive one of course) Thank you.

Hey! Thank you for your present and the tomato :) I'll never look at a tomato in the same light again. Keep the "2 normal spirit" burning alive! (even if you ( haslina) are no longer playing 2 normal) haha
